Haggen announced that the Port Orchard Safeway, 3355 Bethel Road SE, will temporarily close at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 5 and will open as Haggen on March 7.
The place, at 1981 Bay Street, formerly the Blue Goose Tavern, is now home to an art gallery and a work space for artists.
At one point along her journey, Sam Smith, owner of Josephine’s Redeemed Boutique, was ready to close the doors and lock up for good.
Radio Shack plans to close about half of it stores, but the Port Orchard store will remain open.
The West Sound Business Expo is set for Feb. 19, at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. More than 150 vendors are expected for this year’s event.
