Peninsula Credit Union donates money to food bank

Peninsula Credit Union awarded South Kitsap Helpline $621 from more than $2,400 raised from the 26th Annual Bake Sale on Dec. 13 at their Port Orchard, Shelton, Poulsbo and Port Townsend branches.

Since 1987, PCU employees have been selling homemade holiday baked goods and snacks with 100 percent of the income generated from the sales going to feed the hungry through donations to local food banks.

Additionally, branches have been collecting other non-perishable food items to add to their contribution.

The Belfair branch collected more than 57 winter coats for needy individuals of all ages in North Mason, along with socks, hats, scarves, jeans, pajamas and sweatshirts.
