UKO Karate accepted into prestigious association

UKO Karate schools have been accepted into the prestigious Hayashi Ha Karate Association of Japan. UKO has its main school in Port Orchard and other schools in Poulsbo and Spokane.

The head instructor is Sensei David Grout, one of 10 registered fourth-degree black belts in the U.S.

“There are many levels of martial art schools, just like there are elementary schools, high schools and universities,” said Grout. “The Hayashi Ha Association is like the Harvard of Japanese karate and is world famous. So this is a really big deal and a great honor for us to be accepted into this association.”
