Port Orchard’s Beach Side Bar & Grill will host a 12-hour fundraiser featuring eight local musical groups this weekend to benefit an ailing South Kitsap woman.

Lara Chavez, who had just graduated from college in October and was planning to start working as a dental assistant, was stricken on Nov. 1 by a brain aneurism.

Chavez, who was also planning to be married next spring, had no medical insurance.

To help take care of her medical bills, friends have organized “Local Bands for Lara,” which will run from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Nov. 20-21 at the Beach Side Bar & Grill, 1604 Bay Street in Port Orchard.

Featured bands include Spence Brothers, Revolver, Randy Gala, Stand to Fall, Z-Rexx, Zeds Dead, Jug Struggle and Greenbriar Project.
