Information provided by the Port Orchard Police Department and Kitsap County Sheriff's Office:

Port Orchard Police, Fire and other support services have planned a community crime prevention event from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Port Orchard Marina and Gazebo Park off Bay Street Aug. 2.

They organized the event to:

  • “heighten crime and drug prevention awareness-generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts
  • strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • send a message to criminals, letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.”
