Sidney Gallery presents unframed art show

The Sidney Art Gallery in Port Orchard presents “Frames Down!,” its third annual unframed art show offering a variety of original artwork for reasonable prices.

Local artists will present their work and this year a new feature will be artwork by students at Olympic College.

The show will run Feb. 7-29. There will be a reception Feb. 12 from 1–4 p.m. to meet the artists, enjoy refreshments while perusing “art in the raw,” and enjoy a demonstration by Mallory Jackson, owner of Custom Picture Framing in Port Orchard.

The Sidney Gallery is at 202 Sidney Ave. and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday 1–4 p.m.

 

Lions Clubs host Masquerade Ball and Auction

The second annual Lions Masquerade Ball and Auction will be held Feb. 25 in Port Orchard.

The event sponsored by the Lions Clubs of Western Washington will begin at 7 p.m. in the Port Orchard Pavilion, 701 Bay St. Tickets cost $25, and proceeds go to Project New Hope, an organization that provides family weekend retreats to help returning military veterans reconnect with their families and community. Military group hosts lunch meeting

Meeting of 1st Cav. Div. NW Chapter at The Homestead Restaurant on So. Tacoma Way in Tacoma at noon, Sat. Feb 4th. All Army Vets, Active duty or retired who served with the 1st Cav. are invited for fellowahip and comreadiere. The Chapter has members from WWII, Korea, Vietnam and the present conflicts and peace time service. Call Roy @ (360) 871-5867 for more info.

 

Rotary Club hosts Mardi Gras-themed Casino Night

The Rotary Club of South Kitsap will hold a new, Mardi Gras-themed Casino Night on Feb. 18

The Bay Street Bash, which will benefit the South Kitsap Rotary Foundation, will begin at 6 p.m. at the Port Orchard Pavilion, 701 Bay St.

The event is open to the public, and tickets are $40 per person, which includes casino match play and a light dinner featuring Cajun-style cuisine. There will be raffles and other Mardi Gras-themed activities, plus a full no-host bar.
