open for SKSD
summer school
South Kitsap School District’s summer school program is open for registration.
The session runs from July 14 to Aug. 7.
The elementary program will be held at Sidney Glen Elementary with classes ranging from preparing children for kindergarten to core classes in reading, science, math and writing.
Classes for junior high and high school students are taught at South Kitsap High School.
Subjects offered include English, Spanish, history — United States, Washington state and world — social studies, algebra and geometry, beginning ceramics and sophomore swim.
There also is a summer WASL prep class that is offered for free to incoming sophomores.
The deadline for registration is July 2.

SKSD community band to perform
at Fathoms o’Fun
The South Kitsap School District Community Band will perform at 6 p.m. on June 28 in downtown Port Orchard.
Practices are 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the South Kitsap High School band room.
Parade T-shirts will be provided.
