Car club awards scholarships

The Saints Car Club of Port Orchard awarded automotive scholarships to a pair of South Kitsap High School seniors on May 20.

Receiving the scholarship were Cassie Clark and Mason Scott, according to Roger Jensen, car club spokesman.

Both seniors will attend Universal Technical Institute — a world-renowned institute for auto, diesel, collision, marine, NASCAR and motorcycle training and certification.

Clark will attend UTI’s diesel school in Avondale, Ariz., and Mason will attend UTI in Dallas, Texas, to study diesel mechanics.

The scholarships were presented during the club’s display of street rods and classic cars at SKHS.
