Grant named distinguished principal

Darek Grant, principal at Burley Glenwood Elementary, was nominated and selected as Peninsula Regional Distinguished Principal.

The Elementary School Principals’ Association of Washington (ESPAW) has 18 regions throughout the state and Grant is one of 18 Distinguished Principals. The Peninsula Region consists of all school districts from Peninsula School District north to Port Townsend and west to Cape Flattery School District.

Grant is in the running for the National Association of Elementary School Principals’ (NAESP) Washington State National Distinguished Principal. He will be honored and recognized at the ESPAW conference in the fall of 2014.

If Grant is selected as the Washington State’s National Distinguished Principal, he will be sent to Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2014 to be recognized at a Department of Education ceremony.
