Christmas play at WWCA
The Western Washington Center For the Art’s production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” is slated for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 22 to Dec. 21. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 5 p.m. Sunday. Jan Peterson Ewen is the play’s director. The play is about a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant who is faced with casting the Herdman kids — probably the most awful kids in history. The North Mason United Methodist Church is hosting a toy sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. There will be gently used toys for children of all ages. This is a fundraiser for the Community Food Pantry and Faith in Action Senior Services. Donate two cans of food or more for 10-percent discount on purchase. The church is located at 25240 State Route 3 in Belfair.
GIG HARBOR — The Gig Harbor Turkey Trot 5K/10K run is Thursday, Nov. 28, in historic downtown. The event raises money and food items for the Peninsula FISH Food Bank and Key Peninsula Lutheran Church Food Bank. Pre-register for the run online, which begins at 8 a.m. at Skansie Brothers Park. Cost is $15 plus two cans of food. This can be done on-line by Nov. 25 by going to www.holmeschiropractic.net/turkey-trot. T-shirts are ordered separately for $10 (long sleeve cotton) or $15 (short sleeve tech). Late registration is $30. T-shirts will not be guaranteed for day of race registration. Pre-race number pickup is Nov. 27, at St. Anthony Hospital from 12-6 p.m.6:00 p.m. The route begins at Skansie Brothers Park and goes out Harborview, Vernhardson and then right along the East side of Gig Harbor.
Little Doves Children’s Learning Center’s Holiday Bazaar is set for Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Spirit of Life Lutheran Church, 3901 SE Mullenix Road. More than 20 vendors are planning to attend. Admission is free and there will be live music and children’s activities. There will also be a potato bar with all the fixings. Breakfast with Santa
Breakfast with Santa, a fundraiser to support the Fathoms o’ Fun Scholarship Program, is set for 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Port Orchard Eagles Hall, 4001 Jackson Ave. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 5-12, and free for children under 5. A family packet for two adults plus four children, or four adults is $20. Receive $1 off each ticket by donating a can of food to South Kitsap Helpline. The breakfast will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, juice, coffee or tea. Pictures with Santa will be available, along with a children’s craft area, and raffle for wreaths and other gift items.
