BREMERTON — Aaron Thomas was selected to participate in the 2014 Bremerton Central Lions Armed Forces Festival Ambassador Scholarship Program.

The program allows individuals an opportunity to learn the military while earning money for college.

All candidates are guaranteed at least $100 for their participation. Scholarships range from $250 to $1,500, plus an additional $100 awarded for the best essay and $100 who brings the most people to the event on May 7.

Thomas is a senior at Peninsula High School in Purdy and was the 2013 Fathoms o' Fun king.
