Local residents participate in Boston Marathon

Four South Kitsap residents — three men and a woman — were among the more than 36,000 runners who participated in the 118th Boston Marathon on April 21.

Kevin Fischer, 34, finished 4,417 overall in the 26.2-mile race with a time of 3 hours, 11.23 seconds. Steven Jensen, 47, posted a time of 3:53.16 and 63-year-old Bob Flynn recorded a time of 4:26.06.

The lone female runner, 39-year-old Courtney Willson, finished the race in 3:53.16.

There was also a 5 and 10K race, half marathon, distance medley, mile run and wheelchair race.
