Jolliffe is finalist for state pageant crown

Kelcie Jolliffe, 16, of Port Orchard, has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Washington Pageant to be held Aug. 8-10 at the Hotel Murano in Tacoma.

Jolliffe attends Insight Online School of Washington.

The National American Miss pageant is for girls, ages 4-18, and has five different age divisions. Jolliffe, 16, will be participating in the teen division.

The pageant winner will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses, and air transportation to compete in the national pageant in California.

The winner also will receive a complimentary tour of Hollywood and two tickets to Disneyland.

The National American Miss Pageants are dedicated to celebrating America’s future and equipping them with lifelong skills.

Each year, the pageant nationally awards more than $1.5 million in cash, scholarships and other prizes, which include a new Ford Mustang convertible.

The National American Miss pageants are unlike other pageants. All activities and competitions are kept age appropriate.

Jolliffe’s activities will include talent (singing) and photogenic.

Girls younger than 12 are not allowed to wear make-up and there is no swimsuit competition. The pageant program is based on inner-beauty, as well as poise and presentation, and offers an “all-American spirit of fun for family and friends.”

Emphasis is put on the importance of developing self-confidence, learning good sportsmanship, as well as setting and achieving personal goals.

The pageant recognizes the accomplishments of each girl while encouraging her to set goals for her future.

Jolliffe is the daughter of Dan and Dori Jolliffe, along with siblings Kaleb, Khrstian and Sophia.

In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, photography, singing, shopping, camping and spending times with friends.
