Drive underway for school supplies

South Kitsap Helpline is conducting a drive to collect news school supplies to help low-income children as they head back to school in September.

The drive will run through Aug. 29 and donations can be dropped off at 1012 Mitchell Ave., Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or call 360-876-4089 to make drop-off arrangements.

SK Helpline is collecting backpacks, composition books, graph paper, folders, binders, notebook paper (wide and college ruled), highlighter pens, dry erase markers, index cards, tabbed dividers, erasers, colored markers and pencils, permanent markers, glue sticks, scientific calculators, boys and girls underwear (all sizes and colors) and boys and girls socks.
