Kitsap County hosted a meeting between community leaders and the U.S. Census Bureau to encourage participation in the upcoming census, laying the groundwork and increasing the accuracy of the upcoming population count.

Dubbed the “Complete Count Committee,” the meeting drew about two dozen representatives of various groups with the purpose of getting hard-to-reach people to participate.

The next meeting is Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. in the county administration building in Port Orchard. For information contact Holly Anderson, (360) 337-4402 or at handers@co.kitsap.wa.us.
