Drag racing return for 54th year at Bremerton Raceway

The Handlers’ Racing Association or Bremerton Raceway is bringing drag racing to Kitsap County at the inactive runway of the Bremerton International Airport for the 54th consecutive year.

The Bremerton Raceway 2013 race season officially start April 5, when the gates open at 3 p.m. for “Street Legals” and a “Test and Tune” for all vehicles. Racing starts at 4 p.m. until dusk. The gates will close at 9 p.m.

Tech cards are $27 for car and driver. General admission is $12 for adults, $10 for active duty military, children 12 and under is free when accompanied by an adult. Purchase a Bremerton Raceway number for $5 in the Pro Shop at the base of the tower.

On Saturday, April 6, there will be a “Test and Tune” for all vehicles. Junior Dragsters and Car Club Challenge will be having meet No. 1. Junior’s time trials start at noon. Tech cards are $40 for car and driver. Gates open at 8 a.m., racing starts at 9 a.m. The gates will close at 8 p.m.

On Sunday, April 7, gates open at 8 a.m. for our season opener and Summit E.T. Series No. 1.

It is the first Team Bremerton point’s race of the 2013 season.

The E.T. Finals are at Spokane County Raceway in Washington this year, so sign up in the Pro Shop and start accumulating your points. Tech cards (car & driver) are $40 for sportsman and motorcycle, $50 for Pro, $55 for Super Pro and $25 for High School.

General admission is $12 for adults, $10 for active duty military, children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult. Time trials will start for all brackets at 9 a.m. Eliminations will be approximately 1 p.m.
