Sunnyslope Elementary School in South Kitsap was the victim of a burglary and graffiti incident this week, according to Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) reports.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. Tuesday on the 4100 block of Sunnyslope Road SW, deputies contacted the custodian at the elementary school regarding a burglary that occurred sometime during the evening hours.

The custodian had called 911 and showed deputies the graffiti and damage to some of the windows.

The portable music classroom sustained damage to the lower portion of the door and a broken window on the rear of the building.

A white Anarchism symbol was painted on the door.

The special-needs portable classroom had several of its window screens cut and bent, and a storage unit’s window was smashed.

“Cheech and Chong” was scrawled across the north side of the school’s building and the north side of the gym was also vandalized with graffiti of “420, 2010, the PacMan character and a drawing of a marijuana leaf”.

The southeast side of building had what appeared to be a burned wrapper partially stuck to an entry door and an old damaged window with a hole from a BB round was damaged more by the shot.

An outdoor picnic table also was the subject of more graffiti with an unknown object spray painted on it which deputies think was possibly a shield of some kind.

Investigators took prints and are still investigating the incident.
