Man assaulted in Port Orchard bar
By KAITLIN STROHSCHEIN
Port Orchard Police responded to a report that one of the patrons at the Golden Grill on the Bay restaurant had just assaulted another patron around 11:05 p.m. The suspect allegedly talked affably with the victim since about 7 p.m., and then, all of a sudden, he punched him in the face several times for no apparent reason, according to the victim and several witnesses. One witness described it as “the weirdest thing,” according to police reports. Then, the suspect walked out of the bar, and the victim followed him because he didn’t want to let him get away, several witnesses told police. The suspect allegedly punched the victim again several times once the two got outside, according to witnesses. Then, the victim grabbed a toolbox out of his car and threw it at the suspect to keep him away. The suspect then allegedly got into his white Ford F150 truck and tried to drive away, but he didn’t get very far since the victim allegedly slashed his tires with a box-cutting knife from his toolbox. When police arrived, they found the suspect sitting in his truck, and discovered that he was a convicted felon with a suspended license according to police. They found the victim bleeding from his mouth and behind his ear, according to police. He allegedly told them that his side and ears also hurt.
