Long Lake jet ski incident under investigation

Deputies with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Marine Services Unit are investigating a collision that occurred on June 4 involving two personal watercraft (Jet Skis) on Long Lake in South Kitsap.

The watercraft were being operated by a husband and wife.

The woman, age 24, from South Kitsap, was transported by South Kitsap Fire & Rescue medic unit to Tacoma General Hospital with severe injuries.

The cause of this mishap and the sequence of actions prior to the collision have not been clearly established.

As part of the case file, marine collision investigators are requesting that anyone who witnessed this crash to contact Sgt. Jim McDonough at (360) 337-7002 or Deputy Mike Shannon at (360) 337-4634.
