SK man arrested following disputes in Walmart parking lot

Taken from incident reports by Kitsap County Sheriff's Deputies:

A 20-year-old South Kitsap man kicked a three inch dent into the back of a Cadillac, following two verbal disputes at the South Kitsap Walmart parking lot around 9:29 p.m. Tuesday.

First, he got into a shouting match with his mother, screaming, “I’m going to get my gun! I’m going to kill you!” according to a 58-year-old woman who witnessed the dispute.

“You don’t have a gun,” his mother allegedly replied.

“Yes I do,” he allegedly said, before driving away with his mother as she yelled for him to stop.

The young man gunned the engine of the car, a green Nissan Altima, and accelerated straight toward a Cadillac, allegedly throwing gang signs as he went.

The green car stopped about 15 to 20 feet short of hitting the Cadillac, according to several witnesses, and the young man got out, flailed his arms and yelled something about “South Side Gangsters.”

He also said something about being Mexican, although he actually wasn’t Mexican, according to the Cadillac’s driver.

Then, he got out of the car and started yelling threats at Cadillac’s driver.

“Drive like an American,” he allegedly yelled, threatened to kill or shoot him, according to a witness.

As the Cadilac’s driver tried to leave, the young, yelling man allegedly spit on his car and kicked a dent into it, near the tail lights.

His mother allegedly apologized to the Cadilac driver and wrote her phone number on a piece of paper which she gave to him, saying that her husband owns an auto shop and could fix the damage.

The young man driving the green car, told Sheriff’s deputies a slightly different account of what had happened.

He was pulling out of the parking lot, when the Cadillac’s driver almost hit him, he said.

He shouted profanity at the man for that, he said.

The man swore back and told him to get out of the car, he said.

He parked the green car and jumped out yelling “What,” and putting his arms up in the air.

Then, the Cadillac driver also got out of his car, grabbing a flashlight and both yelled at each other, threatening to kill each other he said.

The Cadillac driver then got back into his vehicle, and the Nissan driver kicked a dent in the back of the Cadillac driver’s car.

The young man’s mother apologized to the Cadillac driver, giving the man her phone number, and saying that her husband owns an auto shop and could fix the damage.

A deputy allegedly called that number, and the mother quickly said she knew why he was calling.

She allegedly said that her son should be arrested and drove him to the Westbay Center on Beach Drive right away.

The man allegedly said that he has bi-polar disorder and doesn’t take his medications, because he doesn’t like the way they make him feel.

He said that he has anger management problems and needs help.

He used to have a gun, he said, but he sold it. Deputies arrested him and placed him in handcuffs without incident. He was booked into jail for harassment threats to harm or kill and malicious mischief. Bail was initially set at $10,000.
