SK men trespassing at a water utilities substation
August 16, 2011 · Updated 9:07 AM
Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested an 18-year-old Olalla man and a 22-year-old South Kitsap man after the two apparently broke into the Kitsap County water utilities substation in the 2200 block of Karcher Road SE.
A witness saw the two men walking toward the substation, and later heard a noise that sounded like they were on the roof of the building at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday.
When deputies arrived at the gravel road to the substation, they heard voices and what sounded like someone kicking something.
The deputies found two men, and one of them said they were being “dumb” and “kicked the door in.”
He showed deputies a hole in the fence, where the two had crawled into the substation.
“We were just looking around,” the other man said.
Deputies could see that the door to the substation had been kicked in.
They arrested the men and booked them into jail for criminal trespassing and third-degree malicious mischief. Their bail was set at $5,000 each.
