Man jailed after attacking brother, threatening to kill family

A 19-year-old South Kitsap man was jailed after he allegedly attacked his brother and threatened to kill his family at their home Saturday night, the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office reported.

The suspect was at the family home on Burley Olalla Road even though there is a no-contact order prohibiting him from being there, according to the report.

When the man's 16-year-old brother would not let him use a family computer, the suspect became irate and attacked his brother.

The report says the suspect, who had shown "uncontrollable rage" before, wrestled his brother to ground while threatening to kill the entire family.

After the mother and father pulled the suspect away from his brother, the older sibling ran into his parents' bedroom to get a gun kept there, his parents told investigating deputies. His mother called 9-1-1 and the suspect took off.

A deputy spotted the suspect running on Bethel Burley Road and arrested him.

The deputy returned to the home and spoke with the parents, who said their son was definitely capable of following through with his threats to kill, based on his violent and unstable personality.

After talking to the arrested man, the deputy reported that the suspect said he had "every intention" of shooting his brother.

The suspect was charged with violating a no-contact order and felony harassment.
