Dee Coppola appointed to planning commission

December 20, 2011 · Updated 10:15 PM

The Port Orchard City Council approved the appointment of Dee Coppola, outgoing Mayor Lary Coppola's wife, to the planning commission during a special council meeting Tuesday afternoon.

Her appointment was to fill an opening on the eight-member planning commission, an advisory board appointed by the mayor.

There will be another vacant position when Tim Matthes, who has been the chair of the planning commission, takes office as mayor.

Dee Coppola was selected from several applicants that also included former councilman Rick Wyatt and former planning commission member Tadina Crouch.
