Schippel graduates from training

Army Pvt. Karl E. Schippel, a 2010 alumni of South Kitsap High School, has graduated from One Station Unit Training  at Fort Leonard Wood, in Waynesville, Missouri.

Schippel completed basic military training and advanced individual training. During basic military training, Schippel received instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons qualification, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, Army doctrine, history, principles and traditions.  While in AIT, Schippel completed the military police specialist course to acquire skills in combat area support, conduct battlefield circulation control, area security, prisoner of war operations, civilian internee operations and law and order operations.

Additional training included providing peacetime support to the military community through security of resources and crime prevention programs.

Schippel is the son of Tess and Peter Schippel of Port Orchard.
