Oke services Sunday

Retired Sen. Bob Oke, who died this week from cancer at 66, will be honored with a celebration of life Sunday at Christian Life Center, 1780 SE Lincoln Ave., at 2:30 p.m.

The service is open to the public.

A military graveside burial for family members is planned for Monday at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent.

The public is also invited to leave a message for the family at the Web page Oke's wife created for him at: www.thestatus.com. Click on "visit a patient" and type in "Oke," then the password "care-suppose."

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Bible Church, 7070 Bethel Burley Rd SE, Port Orchard, WA 98367, or Marrow Transplant Unit (patients fund), General Post Funds 9770, in care of Cathy Blanchard, VA Hospital, 1660 S Columbian Way, Seattle, WA 98108.
