Severe weather shelter opens tonight

BREMERTON – Due to freezing weather conditions, Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management has activated the county’s Severe Weather Shelter Plan.
The shelter is at the Bremerton Food Line, 1600 12th St. It will open at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 31 and Tuesday, Jan. 1. Hours of operation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m.
Guests will not be able to check into the shelter after 9 a.m. The shelter will serve all citizens in our area who require safe overnight refuge where none is available.
Further activations will be weather dependent.
