Slight chance of snow this week

The National Weather Service stated South Kitsap County could see a slight chance of snow on Wednesday, Jan. 9.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) website, on Wednesday, there is a 80-percent chance of rain with a high near 44 degrees and southwest winds between 14 and 18 mph.

That night, rain is expected before 11 p.m., with a chance of snow with the snow level dropping from 1,000 to 600 feet. There is a 50-percent chance of precipitation with little or no accumulation of snow.

On Thursday, Jan. 10, there is a chance of rain and snow showers. Snow level is expected at 400 feet with mostly cloudy skies with a high near 38.

There is a 30-percent chance of precipitation with little or no accumulation of snow. The night’s low is expected around 34.

More rain is expected through the weekend.
