The South Kitsap High School marching band is one of twenty high school bands in a northwest competition.
The 2012-13 "Schools of Rock Battle of the Bands" is sponsored by 95.7 KJR radio in Seattle. Each school entered a music video of their band performing a song.
South Kitsap's video features a picture slideshow of band members accompanied by its performance of the song, "In The Stone." The video was directed by Gary Grams.
The video with the most votes at the end of the voting period wins the competition. Voting ends on Jan. 18. Until then, anyone can vote once a day for South Kitsap or any of the 19 other schools.
At the moment, South Kitsap is in fourth place, with just over 1,100 votes. Videos ahead of them are Lake Stevens' rendition of "I Love Rock 'n Roll," Chief Sealth's "Walk This Way/Dream On," and Issaquah's "Take On Me."Contact Port Orchard Independent Reporter Wes Morrow at firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-308-9161 x5062.
