The city of Port Orchard is offering more opportunities for residents to influence the Comprehensive Plan update with several events in May.

The Tremont Corridor Subcommittee met Monday evening at the Robert G. Geiger Council Chambers at City Hall to discuss land-use and zoning in that area.

The Tremont Corridor — considered the “gateway” to Port Orchard — is undergoing a widening process and the installation of new intersection controls.

The current plan is to place roundabouts at intersections at Pottery Avenue and Kitsap Boulevard.

On May 14, the Downtown Overlay District “Wings” Subcommittee will meet to discuss land use and regulations in the areas east and west of the city’s downtown core.

The core is regulated by the already-established Downtown Overlay District, which limits heights and lays out building and redevelopment regulations for commercial developments.

That group will meet at the Robert G. Geiger Council Chambers at City Hall.

A general Comprehensive Plan meeting will take place at City Hall May 19.

The public is welcome to attend these meetings. For more information contact Jennifer Haro at (360) 876-4991 or e-mail her at jharo@ci.port-orchard.wa.us.
