Level III sex offender released in S. Kitsap
June 12, 2008 · Updated 8:44 AM
A 21-year-old Level III sex offender has recently registered with the Kitsap County Sheriffs Office to live in the area as a transient, Spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson reported.
Steven Matthew Arnold will have no fixed address and will be required to check in with the Sheriffs Office located in Port Orchard weekly.
According to court documents, Arnold was convicted in 2002 of first-degree rape of a child after sexually assaulting two juveniles between the ages of 9 and 12.
The victims were known to him, and Arnold was 15 at the time of the offenses.
He is described as a white male, 6-3, 190 pounds, with blond hair and green eyes.
Since he has no fixed address, a community notification meeting is not planned.
The Sheriffs Community Resource Officer, Deputy Pete Ball, is available to assist communities in establishing block or neighborhood watch programs and to provide the public with information on personal safety. Reach him at 337-7074.
For more information on registered sex offenders in the county, contact Det. Doug Dillard at 337-5617.
