Drunk driver in Port Orchard collides with police car, officer sent to hospital

A Port Orchard woman was arrested for drunk driving after her car struck a police car early Monday morning, the Washington State Patrol reported.

According to the report, the incident began shortly before 2:40 a.m. June 2 when the suspect, 30, was driving her silver, 1993 Pontiac Grand Am out of a parking lot on Sidney Road and onto Sedgwick Road (State-Route 160).

The suspect’s car struck an on-duty Port Orchard Police Department officer, who was driving westbound on SR-160.

The officer suffered unknown injuries in the collision, and was transported by aid car to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.

The female suspect was uninjured, and placed under arrest for suspected drunk driving. She was then booked into Kitsap County Jail under $2,500 bail.
