Third power outage in a week for South Kitsap PSE customers

A third power outage this week was reported about 7:30 a.m. Friday to Puget Sound Energy, Spokesman Joseph Harris said, explaining that about 45 customers near the 3700 block of Westland Court lost power.

“It was not the same substation (as the other two outages), and this outage had nothing to do with the substation,” Harris said, explaining that Friday's was due to a small distribution line shutting itself off for safety reasons.

“They were unable to find the cause, although they did find a dead salamander in the line, but they’re not sure that was the reason it shut off,” he said, adding that power was restored at 9:50 a.m. “It’s unfortunate — it was kind of a rough week for the area.”
