"Port Orchard police are looking for a light blue Chevrolet pickup truck, possibly from 1967 to 1972, involved in a vehicular assault Oct. 12 around 8 a.m.The transmission in the vehicle apparently makes noise and the truck's exhaust smokes badly.George Kuhr, owner of the Port Orchard Paint Store at 1010 Bethel Road, told police he and a friend discovered the Chevrolet and the driver in the back lot of the business Oct 12. The driver, described as a white male, around 6 feet tall and 160 to 170 pounds with a narrow moustache, black hair and a tan, was standing outside the truck. As the man threw a red plastic bin onto the ground, Kuhr approached him to ask what he was doing. The man jumped into the truck and sped away, hitting Kuhr, who was standing in front of the truck, knocking him down and running over his right leg. The owner was able to walk, but police called an ambulance anyway to treat his leg, which was swollen, bruised and scraped. His right leg has bad tissue damage; it's pretty purple and green. He spent three days with his leg up. He'll heal slowly, said Kuhr's wife, Jan.The suspect stole two tires and rims from Kuhr's Ford F 250 pick-up truck.Police found two pieces of molded plastic between the tire tracks where Kuhr was hit.Police are requesting anyone with any information about the assault or the Chevrolet pick-up to call Detective Jerry Jensen at 360-876-1700.
