"A 14-year-old Sedgwick Junior High student charged Oct. 17 with 11 counts of fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation and one count of harassment apparently has a history of similar offenses at a school in Oregon.Deputy prosecutor Jennifer Irvine said her office has four letters of suspension out of an Oregon school, two involving sexual harassment, against the teen alleged to have harassed girls at Sedgwick Junior High. One of the Oregon school suspensions includes sexual harassment with assault. The next out-of-court case setting for the teen will be Nov. 6. If the case goes to trial and the teen is convicted, Irvine said her office is asking he be sentenced to one year at the juvenile rehabilitation administration. If he's convicted, treatment would certainly be my request, she said. My office is taking this very seriously.Irvine said her office is seeking a sentence outside the standard range based on the scope of his crimes and information of some prior similar conduct that he received some punishment for, she said.Fourteen girls ranging in age from 14 to 16 gave written statements to Sedgwick Junior High administrators the first week of October accusing the teen of sexually harassing them from the beginning of the school year until the first week of October. While the 11 fourth degree assault charges stem from allegations the teen grabbed the girls' behinds, breasts and between their legs and made lewd suggestions and requests, the harassment charge follows an allegation that he threatened to kill one of the girls, holding a pen to her throat in the lunchroom. The girl said he was retaliating against her because she made a sarcastic remark to him during a gym class when he was harassing her friend.Irvine said the teen's attorney has requested another continuation following the Nov. 6 case setting to continue gathering information and putting the case together.
