PO man victim of shooting
June 12, 2008 · Updated 10:38 AM
The owner of Port Orchards China West restaurant was shot in front of his residence as he returned from work early Monday morning.
Lin Ning, 42, was assaulted just after midnight on Yeshua Lane, just outside the Port Orchard city limits. Lin was immediately airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he reportedly underwent surgery for his injuries.
The hospital officials said the man had been treated for at least one gunshot wound to the head.
As of Monday afternoon, Lin was reported in satisfactory condition.
The Kitsap County Sheriffs Depart-ment, which is handling the investigation, declined to release details of the crime.
All officials would say is that the man was shot multiple times and the incident is being treated as suspicious.
It was not an accident, said Sgt. Earl Smith.
Smith declined to discuss possible motives the assailant may have had for attacking Lin. He also would not elaborate on any leads the department is currently working on.
Were still looking into a bunch of different possibilities, he said.
Neither Lin nor his family were available for comment Monday.
