SK man arrested for making video of teenager
June 12, 2008 · Updated 11:20 AM
A Port Orchard man and registered sex offender was arrested after a teen-aged family member reported he was secretly videotaping her in her bedroom.
Troy D. Landauer, 38, pleaded not guilty to one count of voyeurism, a class E felony, in Kitsap County Superior Court Monday.
Bail was set at $25,000.
If convicted, Landauer faces up to five years in prison.
According to the incident report filed by the Port Orchard Police Department, the victim told officials at her school last Friday she found Landauers video camera tucked under a pillow on her bed that morning as she dressed for school. The victim said the tape was still running when she found it, and she was worried the suspect might have been taping her for some time.
Police then searched the suspects home and seized the video camera in question and several video tapes, one of which revealed the victim had been videotaped as she described.
The suspect, whom police discovered is registered as a Level I sex offender in both Washington and Oregon, was arrested and booked into Kitsap County Jail early Saturday morning.
Landauers trial is set for April 7, with an omnibus hearing scheduled for March 4.
