PO Safeway bank branch robbed

s of Thursday, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Detectives were still searching for man who robbed a teller at the Bank of America branch located inside the Safeway grocery store on Bethel Road Wednesday morning.

According to the sheriff’s department, a man approached the teller at the branch shortly before 10 a.m. and handed the employee a note demanding money.

The note also indicated the suspect had a gun, but did not wish “to hurt innocent people.”

The teller reportedly gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, then dialed 911 after the robber exited the store on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 20 and 30 years old, tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark coat, yellow or tan shirt, blue jeans, white athletic shoes and eye glasses.
