Man jailed in South Kitsap child molestation case

A 37-year-old male remains in Kitsap County Jail after he was arrest for first-degree child molestation of a 9-year-old girl on March 5.

James Henry Wright was charged in District County the day of his arrest. Bail was set at $150,000.

According to court documents, Wright and his girlfriend were staying at the home of the girl’s parent since September.

The father said Wright needed a place to stay since getting out of prison.

On March 1, the girl told her parents about the incident which happened a month ago at her grandmother’s house.

The girl told investigators that Wright ask her to sit on his lap and he touched her inappropriately.

If convicted, Wright could be sentenced to a maximum term of life in prison and/or $50,000.

He is set to appear in court on March 21.
