DISTRICT COURT | Harassment charges filed against Port Orchard man

Kitsap County prosecutors handed down felony charges against a Port Orchard man who threatened someone over the telephone.

According to court records, Robert Williams Evans, 24, was charged May 30 in Kitsap County District Court with harassment after he threatened his ex-girlfriend’s father over the phone.

Court documents stated Evans and his ex-girlfriend are involved in a custody battle over their child.

The father, who lives in Bremerton, told investigators he received a phone call around midnight, May 29, and heard Evans state, “I’m gonna kill you, you’re dead.” The man said he feared for his life and called the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office. He said Evans threatened to kill him on May 21 and was physical with him in April, charging papers stated.

Evans called to his ex-girlfriend and deputies tracked the phone call to the South Kitsap Regional Park. With the aid of a K-9 unit, deputies found Evans curled up hiding in a bush, court documents stated.

Evans was arrested and booked into the Kitsap County Jail for felony harassment. Bail was set at $10,000.
