KCSO | Traffic stops yield arrests

A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a 43-year-old Port Orchard man for forgery and driving with a suspended license.

According to a Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies stopped a vehicle for making an illegal left turn on Bethel Road and SW Piperberry Way on May 31.

When deputies approached the driver, the man told deputies he didn’t have a valid driver’s license, but had a trip permit in the vehicle’s window. Upon further inspection, deputies discover the permit was fake.

He was booked into the Kitsap County Jail for forgery and also charged with driving with suspended license, illegal left turn and no insurance.

Deputies also arrested and charged a 29-year-old Olalla woman with drunk and reckless driving.

According to a Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office report, the woman was arrested in the 5600 block of Bethel Road SE on June 1. She was stopped for driving 70 mph in a 40-mph speed zone.

The woman was booked into the Kitsap County Jail for drunk driving, reckless driving and driving with suspended license. She also had a misdemeanor warrant from the Port Orchard Police Department.
