DISTRICT COURT | Port Orchard man charged with child molestation

Child molestation charges against a Port Orchard man was filed in Kitsap County District Court on Aug. 8.

John Edward Hall, 64, was charged with one count of first-degree child molestation involving a young girl during 2000 to 2003, according to charging papers.

Court documents stated that on June 18, the girl — now 19 years old — told a therapist about the rape and molestation by Hall during a therapy session she was attending for sexual abuse. The therapist notified Child Protective Services about the allegations.

Court documents stated the girl said Hall started molesting her in 1998 when she was 5-years-old while spending the weekend at Hall’s residence. In 2000, the girl and her mother moved in with Hall and his wife. She described Hall putting his genitals in her hand and mouth, and inserting his fingers into her vagina.

The girl said Hall a family friend, stated court records.

Court documents stated Hall was convicted in 1980 for communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and the original charge was listed as indecent liberties.
