Labor Day closing announced

All city, county, state and federal buildings will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day, Sept. 2, along with local banks and libraries.

The West Sound Utility District board of commissioners announced that the Sept. 2 regular meeting has been canceled because of the Labor Day holiday.

The holiday will result in several changes for recycling and garbage services. All recycling and garbage facilities will be close and will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

All South Kitsap School District schools and facilities will be closed on Labor Day.
