Port of Bremerton names new CEO

The Port of Chehalis Executive Director Jim Rothlin has been selected to become the next CEO for the Port of Bremerton.

During a board of commissioners meeting tonight, the commission voted 3-0 to hire Rothlin, although his salary is still being negotiated.

Rothlin was selected from 30 candidates and is expected to begin work in December, working with the current CEO Tim Thomson for about a month before he retires on Dec. 31.

Rothlin said he was drawn to the job because of the many challenges it offers, including working with an airport and two marinas. He currently oversees a port that includes two industrial and business parks, but no airport or marina.

More details will be posted on Wednesday.
