Closures announced for Thanksgiving holiday

The following city, county, school district and other entities will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday:

• City of Port Orchard: Closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29; reopens at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2.

• South Kitsap School District (schools and district office): Closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29; reopens at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2.

• Kitsap County courthouse and all county offices: Closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29; reopens at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2.

• Kitsap Regional Library (all branches): Closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29; reopens Saturday, Nov. 30.

All banks and post offices will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will reopen Friday.

There is no residential or commercial garbage, recycling, or yard waste pick-up service on Thanksgiving for Waste Management customers.

Waste Management’s Thursday pick-ups will be on Friday, and Friday pick-ups are on Saturday.

The Recycling and Garbage Facilities at Olalla will be closed Thanksgiving and will reopen on Friday, Nov. 29.

The Kitsap County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility is closed Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 28 to Dec. 1) and will reopen on Thursday, Dec. 5.
