Retirement ceremony set to honor Powers

A retirement ceremony for Port Orchard Councilwoman Carolyn Powers is set for Tuesday, Dec. 10, beginning at 6 p.m. at City Hall in the Roger G. Geiger Chambers, 216 Prospect St.

Light refreshments and cake will be served.

Powers announced her retirement from the city council at the end of her term on Dec. 31. She has been on the City Council for 26 consecutive years, and has also been active in the community for many years.
