Two earthquakes reported in Kitsap County

Two small earthquakes were recorded near Hood Canal overnight, according to

KOMO reported that a 3.4 magnitude quake struck at 11:55 p.m. Thursday about seven miles north of Seabeck. A smaller 2.8 magnitude quake struck at almost the same location about five hours later. Both struck at a depth of about 11 miles.

The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network director told KOMO that the small quakes are routine. Director John Vidale said they follow a trend of small quakes in the area and are "nothing to get alarmed about."
