MANCHESTER — For the second time this week, a woman’s body has been discovered in South Kitsap.
Kitsap County Sheriff’S Office reported the body was found about 4:30 p.m. Thursday by people working on a vacant beach house on Colchester Drive.
Deputy Scott Wilson, KCSO spokesman, said there was no identification on the body — a white female estimated age between 45 to 55 years old. Deputies canvassed the area for any possible lead on the woman’s identify.
Wilson said there are no “obvious indications of anything suspicious” and foul play is not suspected.
“Our first step is try to identify the person,” Wilson said.
The county coroner’s office is investigating the cause of death. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
When the body was found, it was wet and investigators believe is was due to tidal activity and not from being floating in the water.
“The woman was dressed for elements,” Wilson said. “Whatever happened to her, happened on the beach.”
Wilson said until the toxicolgy report is complete to determine what was in her system, investigators won’t know if her death was caused from drugs, alcohol or a medical emergency.
Wilson said there is no connection between the dead woman and of a 46-year-old woman whose body was discovered on Blake Island on Jan. 21.
Persons with information on the woman’s identity should call 911.
