The Kitsap County Fire Marshal's Office is conducting an investigation to determine the cause on a fire that destroyed an abandon home in Port Orchard.

Port Orchard police officers arrived at the scene first and reported a house was fully engulfed in flames, according to Ron Powers, South Kitsap Fire and Rescue battalion chief.

Powers said four engines, a medic unit, an air support unit were dispatched about 9:19 p.m. Feb. 14 to the fire in the 200 block of Caseco Lane.

“We used defensive measures to put the fire out,” Powers said.

He said fire units remained on scene throughout the night.
