Community meetings on proposed triangle ferry schedule set Feb. 26

Two community meetings about the proposed the Fauntleroy/Vashon Island/ Southworth schedule for added capacity when the 87-car Klahowya is replaced by the 124-car Cathlamet this fall have been scheduled this week by Washington State Ferries (WSF).

The first meeting is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Kitsap County Commissioner’s Chambers, 619 Division St., in Port Orchard. The second is 6-8 p.m., Thursday., Feb. 27 at McMurray Middle School, 9329 SW Cemetery Rd, Vashon.

Persons unable to make a meeting, can send comments to wsfplanning@wsdot.wa.gov by March 6.

WSF is looking for input on changes to the triangle route schedule to accommodate the additional vehicle capacity when the Cathlamet replaces the Klahowya, how to improve reliability and reduce delays, and plan for future demand.

For more information on the triangle schedule revision process, visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/Ferries/Service/ScheduleProposals.htm.
