Motorcycle crash claims man, KCSO seeking information

The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on a May 14 motorcycle crash that killed a Tacoma man.

The man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding struck the rear of a vehicle, the sheriff office reported.

James D. French, 53, died at the scene after he hit the back of car after it was prepared to make a turn. The accident happened about 2 p.m. on Bethel Burley Road near Pine Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

The road was closed several hours while deputies investigated the scene of the crash.

South Kitsap man injured in crash

On May 13, a South Kitsap man escaped serious injuries after his motorcycle collided with car on Olalla Valley Road.

KCSO reported the 29-year-old man was traveling southbound on a 2007 Yamaha when he hit a 1999 Honda Civic that was preparing to turn at Fragaria Road. The motorcyclist flew over an embankment and landed in a creek bed. He was transported to a Tacoma hospital.

The collision happened about 6:30 p.m.

The driver of Honda, a 79-year-old Mason County man, received minor injuries and was taken to Harrison Medical Center.
